I like building things that work, and teams that want to build them with me.
Previously, I led marketing and communications at Texas A&M AgriLife, manI’m a marketing, communications and creative leader with more than 15 years of experience helping complex organizations become clearer, stronger and more effective.
My career has taken me from Texas A&M to statewide youth sports, but the work I’m drawn to has stayed pretty consistent: ambitious goals, talented people, complicated systems and the opportunity to make them work better together.
I’ve led brand and communications strategy, digital transformation, creative teams, audience growth and organizational change. What I enjoy most is connecting the dots between people, process, brand, technology and mission.
How I lead
I believe people do their best work when they understand why it matters and have real ownership in how they get there.
I lead with energy, empathy and accountability. I’m comfortable making hard decisions and having difficult conversations, but I also believe leaders should be willing to do the work alongside everyone else.
I work hard, and I bring a lot of enthusiasm with me. Serious work can still be full of high fives, humor and momentum. I like teams that care deeply, move fast when it matters and celebrate the wins along the way.
I think of it as unreasonable hospitality: caring enough about the mission, the team and the audience to notice the details other people might miss.
I’m probably never going to be the stuffy suit in the corner office. I bring strategy, heart, grit, humor and a healthy amount of stoke to the work, and I like building teams where people can work hard, care deeply and enjoy doing it together.
We’re going to get a lot done, and we’re going to have one heck of a good time doing it.
Also me
I’m still a designer at heart, a mountain biker, a community builder and a firm believer that a good espresso machine is legitimate team infrastructure.
